The professional experience acquired in the oil industry in the 1970s inspired Ferruccio Montalbetti to face first-hand the difficulties and risks associated with technical manoeuvres on road manhole covers.
In 1991, the entrepreneur founded FEDA and focused the company's production on manhole lifting equipment.
