Return to the office

From 31 July, a number of smart working employees return to the office?

A requirement also made necessary by the intense resumption of service delivery, as provided for in the Relaunch Decree. On 24 July 2020, the protocol between trade unions and the Minister for Public Administration Fabiana Dadone was signed, defining the modalities for civil servants to return to the office.

The protocol covers the prevention and safety, with respect to Covid19 emergency, of workplaces and a special focus on the management of suspected cases.

The key points are as follows:

  • use of thermoscanners at the inputs to detect the temperature, which must never exceed 37.5°;
  • more flexible working hours and openings to the public that allow digital interactions with users;
  • Interpersonal distancing during activities ensured by appropriate signage and divider panels where distance cannot be guaranteed;
  • Use of personal respiratory protective equipment (masks) for all workers for whom adequate distance cannot be guaranteed;
  • use of face masks and, if necessary, visors, for all workers in direct contact with the public;
  • Use of personal respiratory protective equipment (masks) for all workers for whom adequate distance cannot be guaranteed;
  • limitations on the use of common areas.

Regular ventilation and frequent sanitisation of workplaces and workstations (including keyboards, mice, screens, touchscreens, telephones);

The protocol concludes on the opening of dialogue on agile work as an opportunity for workers not only in emergencies but as an improvement of the quality of life.
